Improving education
It is quite unfortunate that education has never been the topmost priority of all the successive governments in the country. Rather, they have done everything to further deteriorate it.
How can an education system be improved when officially only 2.1 percent of GDP is allocated for the education sector? How can an education system be improved when teachers are recruited on a political basis in public sector schools? How will net enrollment in public sector schools increase knowing that most of them lack basic facilities such as additional classrooms, toilets, boundary walls (especially for girl schools), electricity, water, etc?
There are hundreds of such basic questions, the answers to which are very important to be given by all those who are at the helm of affairs. We will not be able to improve our education system by merely paying lip service to the same. Some bold but concrete steps are required by the governments (both at federal and provincial levels).
We must not forget that our better future is solely linked with good and quality education for all in the public sector educational institutions in every nook and corner of the country.
