Faulty paper
The Federal Board of Education is famous for setting tricky and concept-based questions in the examinations from its elementary to higher classes alike. This system of assessment is popular among educationists but sometimes unnecessary modifications and alterations in the main concept make it difficult for students to comprehend.
This was what happened in the first year’s chemistry paper on May 21, 2015. Inappropriately asked questions with far-fetched ideas left students and teachers apoplectic. Being the teacher of this subject, I also have apprehensions regarding the contents of the paper, because the course was not followed adequately. During my entire teaching career, I never witnessed such a situation when even the brilliant students were found complaining against the Board’s fresh modus operandi.
Foreseeing the future of students in grave peril, I request Education Minister Engineer Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman and the chairman Federal Board of Education to pay heed to this momentous issue. A revamped paper with new date should be announced in the best interests of students otherwise this would prove disastrous for the future of many young students.
