EDUCATIONAL BUDGET
Friday, June 05, 2015 - In every developed country Government develops schools and educational institutions where they provide free high quality education to the children to bring them up as useful members of the society and for this purpose they prepare annual educational budget and spend large amount on it. In Pakistan the conditions are totally different, Pakistan‘s Government spends only 5% of the annual budget on education and this is too low that is why the government schools are totally ruined and it‘s pity to see the condition of the schools, that present a look of “Ghost Schools” that is why Pakistan is well behind in the race of education and it has only 50% to 60% of literacy rate.
North Korea has the largest educational system that spends most of its money on education and it has a 99% literacy rate. Isn‘t it mind blowing? You will be very gloomy to know that Pakistan is far behind the other South Asian countries like Iran, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Maldives. Pakistan ranks as the second with the most out-of-school children in the world with only Nigeria ahead of it. Government should take it seriously and learn from North Korea as to how they are running their educational system because children are among the most valuable assets to any country.
