Professor Anjum James Paul’s research work on Textbooks published in Sindh
“Constitution of Pakistan and Textbooks” is name of book published in Urdu language on research work of Professor Anjum James Paul on Textbooks of Sindh Textbook Board Jamshoro, Pakistan prepared in February 2015.
Professor Anjum James Paul is Chairman of Pakistan Minorities Teachers Association PMTA who have rendered his valuable services to prevail religious harmony in Pakistan through making education system under true spirit of Constitution of Pakistan.
Professor Anjum James Paul is of view that religious extremism in Pakistan can be only capped by providing true historic facts and prevention of hate in syllabus of education and textbooks for students in schools and colleges.
His recent published book is on research of textbooks in various subjects like Urdu, General Knowledge, Social Studies and Pakistan Studies published in Urdu language.
Professor Paul’s research identifies violation of Article 20 (a), Article 22 (1), Article 25 (1) and Article 36 of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973, when Article 20 (a) of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973 guarantees, “every citizen shall have the right to profess, practice and propagate his religion;”, Article 22 (1) clearly guarantees, “No person attending any educational institution shall be required to receive religious instruction, or take part in any religious ceremony, or attend religious worship, if such instruction, ceremony or worship relates to a religion other than his own.”, Article 25 (1) guarantees “All citizens are equal before law and are entitled to equal protection of law.” And Article 36 “The State shall safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of minorities, including their due representation in the Federal and Provincial services.”
Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has paid homage to Professor Anjum James Paul on his recent book published in Sindh Province of Pakistan and his decade long volunteer services to make syllabus and Pakistani educational textbooks free of hate among different religions contents.
Dr. Nazir Bhatti invited attention of United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, US Aid in Pakistan, US Home Department, Human Right Commission of EU and other International forums to recognize valuable research of Professor Anjum James Paul on Textbooks of Pakistan education system and its reformation.
